Tokico Illumina shocks are one of our favorite shocks for the late model cars. The Tokico Illumina shocks are adjustable, so you can increase or decrease the stiffness of the shock. This is great for cars that want a softer ride for everyday, and want to turn it up for the track or weekend use. Tokico Illumina shocks are also called "white" shocks since their color is white. For the serious enthusiast, TOKICO offers 5-position adjustable shocks and struts called Illumina. The adjustment system provides you with the ability to set your car up for a variety of uses.
TOKICO Illumina adjustable shocks and struts were designed for tuning street suspensions.
Even so, some units work quite well on the race track. Steeda, a well known Mustang tuner, has used Illumina adjustables very effectively on both their road race and their drag race cars. The Illumina units not only work well, but Steeda people have been very pleased with their durability.
A simple click of a screwdriver allows you to change for ride or handling balance. So whether you are going to the track, or simply cruising, the Illumina range of adjustment can adapt to your needs.
Internally, the Illumina uses TOKICO’s sophisticated multi-stage variable-aperture piston and valve system combined with a 5-position bypass shutter-valve.
This adjustment system makes it possible to adjust both rebound and compression damping simultaneously.
A detent on the shutter-valve helps adjustment ease so that you can make quick changes and still know which setting you have chosen.
Adjustable shock damping was first introduced as a method of prolonging shock life from normal wear. TOKICO 5 way adjustable Illumina shock series was engineered specifically as a tuning device for the enthusiast who requires the best in performance for the street and track and ride comfort for real-world driving.
The Illumina series offers a choice of five settings, #1 for compliance and #5 for maximum control and externally adjusts both rebound and compression damping simultaneously with a turn of a screwdriver.
Recently Illumina shocks and struts have been used to good effect in the Import Drag Racing arena. The adjustment feature allows the driver to adjust for the most beneficial weight transfer for good bite or traction.
