Exedy lightweight race flywheels are chome moly steel flywheels. They are designed to reduce rotational mass and help the engine rev faster. The Exedy flywheel has special design features that help enhance air flow to the clutch to help cool the clutch.

Exedy Lightweight Flywheel Additional Information
EXEDY racing flywheels are made from solid one-piece forged chrome moly steel. They are specifically designed to reduce weight and inertia for improved engine response. Most flywheels incorporate special design features to enhance the air flow to improve the cooling of the clutch system.
The ring gear teeth are milled onto the flywheel, unlike some aluminium flywheels where the ring gear is pressed, increasing the possibility of separation from the flywheel. This can cause the flywheel to explode due to two different expansion coefficients (aluminium flywheel pressed on steel ring gear).
EXEDY forged chrome moly steel flywheels are guaranteed explosion-proof to 18,000rpm.
