AEM FIC Fuel Ignition Controller
The AEM Fuel Injection Controller, also known as the AEM FIC, allows you to retard your ignition timing without the need for old school FMU units or controllers that try to trick your computer into thinking you are not producing boost. This has been an issue for cars that are OBD2 or do not have forced induction from the factory.
The AEM FIC works along side of your factory ECU, and allows you the ability to tune your car much more than before, due to the factory ECU having many limitations such as timing control. The AEM FIC has windows based tuning software, and makes changes a snap.
The AEM FIC allows the user to do something that no other ignition controller or piggy back system on the market allows, and that is to change your injector pulse width. By allowing the AEM FIC to descrease the injector pulse width, you can run much larger fuel injectors and still have the air fuel ratio that you need to keep your tune and keep the car running smoth. You can also run up to 6 extra injectors with the AEM FIC!
Besides the ability to retard timing (one reason would be for N/A applications running boost), and fuel changes, the AEM FIC can also modify the MAF signal to fix many common problems with cars that are trying to run boost that are not boosted from the factory.
