ACT xACT Lightweight Flywheel

ACT xACT Lightweight Flywheel

The ACT XACT ProLite flywheels are the lightest XACT flywheels. They provide the best throttle response and lowest inertia. These super rigid flywheels are precision made using high-tech CNC equipment and computer balanced for super smooth high RPM reliability. ACT engineers went through a significant amount of effort to strategically slot XACT ProLite flywheels to lower inertia without sacrificing strength and heat dissipation. ACT XACT ProLite flywheels are recommended for Road and Rally Racing applications.

ACT XACT StreetLite flywheels are lighter and stronger than stock cast flywheels and are designed to improve driveability and durability. These super rigid flywheels are precision made using high-tech CNC equipment and computer balanced for super smooth high RPM reliability. ACT XACT StreetLite flywheels are recommended for both Street and Drag Racing.

Key Features:
  • Quicker acceleration and increased throttle response
  • Maximum gear life - gear will not wear out or fall off
  • Serviceable - can be resurfaced with no need to purchased additional parts
  • Chrome-moly forgings three times more rigid than aluminum
  • Longer lasting because of heat treated friction surfaces
  • Excellent heat capacity from retaining adequate material behind the friction surface
  • Super rigid trouble-free single piece design
  • SFI certified to insure safety

  • ACT xACT Lightweight Flywheel Additional Information

ACT XACT flywheels provide significantly improved engine response, acceleration and a higher degree of safety than the original stock flywheels. All ACT XACT flywheels feature a super rigid, trouble free single piece design. This one piece design allows less opportunity for failure and provides for uniform and efficient heat transfer from the clutch, eliminating warped inserts and loose ring gears. ACT XACT flywheels are precisely made using chromoly forgings, also known as chromium-molybdenum steel, a metal which is three times more rigid than aluminum. The materials on ACT XACT flywheels are properly distributed for maximum strength, lower inertia and good heat tolerance. In addition, ACT heat-treats their flywheel forgings for strength and induction hardens their ring gears for the longest gear life. ACT XACT flywheels are easily serviceable and can be resurfaced without the need to purchase additional parts. All ACT XACT flywheels are SFI certified to meet proper safety measures.

Most stock flywheels are heavy cast iron parts designed for optimum street driveability by soaking up some of the power from the engine and putting it in storage in the form of inertia. Although this may be important for transporting the groceries, this driveability comes at the expense of engine response and acceleration. Light weight flywheels keep less inertia in storage but the lighter rotating mass provides significantly improved engine response and acceleration characteristics. Until now most aftermarket flywheels for sport compact vehicles presented certain undesirable concessions to the user. Many are too light or fragile for the application, others have reliability issues and all are very expensive.

Finally, ACT offers eXACTly what performance enthusiasts need: all the benefits of a premium quality light weight flywheel at an affordable price.

ACT currently manufactures XACT flywheels in two versions, ProLite for road racing applications and very quick throttle response, and slightly heavier StreetLite for street and drag racing vehicles which may require more inertia. For example, the Integra ProLite weighs 8.8lbs and the Integra StreetLite weighs 12.5lbs. Both ProLite and StreetLite flywheels are precision made from Chrome-moly forgings and feature an induction hardened integral ring gear. All ProLite and StreetLite flywheels are CNC machined, heat treated for strength and precision balanced. Substantial material is left behind the clutch surface area for better heat dissipation and durability while weight savings is made where it matters the most for reduced inertia.

XACT flywheels are certified by ACT to meet SFI Spec. 1.1. This makes XACT Flywheels legal for competition when SFI Spec. 1.1 is required or recommended. XACT flywheels come complete with official SFI sticker and serial number as required for certification.
